Ebra Group and DK

EBRA Group (Est Bourgogne Rhône Alpes) is the leading regional daily press group in France (PQR).
It brings together nine major titles based in eastern France, including Le Dauphiné Libéré, L’Est Républicain, Le Progrès, Le Républicain Lorrain, Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace, Vosges Matin, Le Bien Public, Le Journal de Saône-et-Loire, and L’Alsace.

Since 2022, EBRA Group has been working with DK to measure the carbon footprint of its advertising activities, both digital and print (regional daily press). This partnership allows for precise analysis of the environmental impact of campaigns across all its media outlets and helps identify concrete reduction levers at the agency level.

Key results of 2024

EBRA Group has published its 2024 carbon footprint report, revealing a remarkable 17% reduction in emissions compared to 2023 — well beyond its annual reduction target of 5%.
Conducted with the organization Sami, this report fully aligns with the group’s CSR strategy, which aims for carbon neutrality by 2050.

Progress has been made across three key areas:

🚛 Freight: -12%, thanks to fewer kilometers traveled and reduced use of heavy trucks.

🏢 Facilities: -18%, through optimized consumption of gas and electricity.

📉 Service Purchases: -32%, achieved through more rigorous spending management.

For the 2024 carbon footprint calculation, EBRA Group used the GHG Protocol method for the first time—an internationally recognized standard for greenhouse gas accounting that helps companies comply with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Following an audit by the Association for Low Carbon Transition (ABC), DK is certified as compliant with this methodology.

Objectives for the next years

In 2024, EBRA Group also committed to complying with the CSRD directive by publishing its first sustainability report in 2025, enhancing transparency and stakeholder engagement while meeting the directive’s requirements to improve the availability and quality of published ESG (environmental, social, and governance) data.

To continue this momentum, EBRA relies on its partners SAMI® (carbon coaching), Toovalu (event carbon calculator), DK (media sales houses carbon calculator), and Positive Company (CSR certification).

Congratulations to EBRA Group, which aims to contribute to achieving global carbon neutrality by taking all necessary measures to reduce its internal impact and raise awareness among its readers and stakeholders about current climate challenges.
