Why GHG Protocol compliance?

The DK platform has been audited by ABC (Association pour la transition Bas Carbone) and declared compliant with the requirements of the Bilan Carbone® methodology. This official recognition confirms that DK complies with the rigorous GHG protocol and standards, guaranteeing its users a reliable tool for their low-carbon initiatives.

Created in 2011 by ADEME and APCC, the Association pour la transition Bas Carbone's mission is to disseminate the Bilan Carbone® methodology / GHG Protocl and contribute to the fight against climate change by providing organisations with the keys to a successful low-carbon transition.

The GHG protocl is a reference method for quantifying greenhouse gas emissions, taking into account the direct and indirect emissions (scope 1, 2, 3) of all the physical flows that make an organisation's operations possible.

The GHG protocol audit is an opportunity for DK to obtain an objective, business-oriented opinion on the conformity and consistency of its tool, which will be launched in 2021:

->ensuring that the methodology used is compliant and accurate: calculation, use of appropriate emission factors, etc.

-> ensuring that the platform supports the GHG Protocol / Bilan Carbone® approach, including raising team awareness and a range of actions to reduce emissions.

->Providing our customers with an additional guarantee of our proposed solutions.

ABC has set up an audit procedure to assess the compliance of its carbon accounting tools with the Bilan Carbone® method.

The main thrusts of the audit's technical analysis are as follows:

• The technical and methodological framework: ensuring the technical and methodological compliance of the solution with the Bilan Carbone® method.

• Support for the carbon approach: ensuring that the solution's carbon approach is consistent with GHG Protocol.

• Transparency of methodology, sources and use: ensuring that the platform offers its users full transparency of the methodology and scientific sources used.

• Training users in environmental issues: ensuring that the solution enables customers and their teams to increase their skills, raise awareness of climate risks and enable actions to be monitored and support to be provided for the transition

• Communication and positioning: ensuring that the communications and positioning of the DK solution are consistent with those of the Association pour la Transition Bas Carbone and ADEME.

The DK platform has been rigorously scrutinised, and here are the main conclusions:

• The DK tool can be used to assess the GHG emissions associated with paper, TV, radio, OOH and digital advertising campaigns. The compliance of this tool was verified by the ABC, after consultation with an independent third party expert in the field.

• DK's solution is part of a Bilan Carbone® approach and enables users to gain a better understanding of energy and climate issues and risks.

• The communications and positioning of the DK solution are in line with the messages relating to carbon neutrality and offsetting as conceived by ADEME. It was emphasised that the primary objective of carbon accounting is to lead to a low-carbon transition.

• Validating the compliance of the DK tool, the ABC and the external auditors also suggested areas for improvement in order to enhance the tool's performance and improve the experience of each of the platform's users.‍

This official recognition guarantees DK users a reliable tool for their low-carbon initiatives.

• It is a reinforced guarantee of quality and rigour, enabling us to provide a carbon measure that can be directly integrated into corporate carbon footprints or extra-financial reports.

• This Bilan Carbone® compliance means that DK's customers can use the carbon data supplied directly in their corporate carbon footprint without having to re-audit the data provided.
