DK raises €1.2 million
Rennes, May 16h 2024. DK, the carbon evaluation and management platform for on-line and off-line advertising, has announced that it has raised €1.2 million in pre-seed funding from French business angels.
Founded in 2021, DK's mission is to involve the world of communications and advertising in preserving the planet's resources by measuring and reducing its environmental footprint. To this end, the company offers a platform that provides a reliable and transparent evaluation of the carbon weight of each campaign whether TV, Radio, Digital, Print or OOH.
DK is providing a response to the obligation, since 1 January 2023 and the new decree of the BEGES law, for companies with more than 500 employees to include indirect emissions linked to Scope 3 in their carbon footprint. Scope 3 - which covers indirect emissions, including all media, marketing and communication activities, as well as activities relating to employee transport to the workplace - can account for nearly 75% of a company's greenhouse gas emissions.
This first round of funding will enable the company to speed up the development of the platform and offer a solution that meets the needs of the market: total interoperability with the introduction of connectors and a Calculation API that will enable the platform to be used by Market Mix Modeling players and to integrate carbon data directly into Business Intelligence tools.

As well as offering access to a platform, DK is to include a set of eco-tips to be activated at the right moment to minimise the carbon footprint of each campaign, and has developed consultancy and Life Cycle Analysis services.
